Even if microtransactions might be backed by good intentions, that doesn't change the way they feel to gamers. EA's own Mass Effect 3 's day-one DLC had many fans up in arms —if the DLC was ready at launch, why wasn't it included in MOBA game esports news, especially since it contained a character many long-time fans of the series were dying to see? It's easy to be cynical; EA knew players wanted to know more about the mysterious Protheans and knew they'd be willing to pay money for it, so it's possible they changed their business model for more profit. That, coupled with the introduction of war resources that required multiplayer grinding for the best ending, microtransactions to get better weapons and characters in multiplayer, and the controversial ending, left fans of the series feeling exploited and skeptical for the fut

H1Z1 's developers aren't the only ones pursuing this avenue. Peter Moore, COO of EA, told Kotaku that he believes that microtransactions will one day be a part of every game , and that this shift is a difficult time for both developers and gamers alike. "We're just picking our way through and nobody is any way trying to gouge anybody," Moore s

AHIII: Growing up, I was a very quiet, introverted person; by nature, I am. I wanted to try to get past that because it wasn't leading to the kind of happiness in life that I wanted. I decided to try to use casting as an avenue to find a more honest expression of myself. My goal in casting is to be myself, crack myself up, and have fun. So, if I make a joke that no one else laughs at but I think is hilarious and I'm having a good time, I went into it knowing I can fit into it. People can not like my talents but it would be okay. I would be fine with my own performance because I was mys

We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Shadow of Mordor receive a Game of the Year edition, especially considering the strong reviews it received from both critics and gamers. We at Game Rant gave the game a 4.5 out of

"This was a project full of firsts for me. It’s been incredibly frustrating and educational trying to finally accomplish this cosplay. This was my first time making armor with Worbla, and I only have one burn scar… so far! In fact, this was my first time using automotive primer, Bondo, silicone molds, resin casts, and a whole lot of other stuff. I’m a kinetic learner, so the only way I really get a handle on stuff is by getting my hands on it and going for it. I messed up a lot, but I learned a lot. You really just have to take every little thing in stride. I had been pushing to try and get this cosplay ready for a specific convention, and nearly drove myself mad trying to do it. Instead, I’ve learned now to just sit back and enjoy the experience. It’ll be done when it’s done, and I’ll be proud of the finished produ

AHIII: Yeah, it is very much that principle. Thankfully, people have enjoyed my casting. It has led to other opportunities and snowballed into where I'm at now. I feel extremely lucky to have gotten the opportunities that I have. It's just me trying to be

600"Right now, I’m gearing up for Megacon. I’ll bring my Inara cosplay and I’ll be doing a Popstar League of Legends group cosplay with several friends of mine. I’m a HUGE Firefly fan so I’m pretty pumped to get some autographs! As for the rest of the year, Janna will most likely mosey out of my labyrinth for Metrocon and Supercon. I also love Holiday Matsuri, it’s just a really fun smaller convention that just feels so warm and friendly, I’ll be going back to it for sure again this year. We have yet to get a hotel room for Dragoncon (much to my dismay), so I’m not sure of the status on that venture y

Not all free-to-play models are bad; League Of Legends does it well with rotating champions and monetized skins that add customization but no significant advantage. Mobile games are known for particularly exploitative models, and psychologists have even made connections between particularly devious free-to-play games and gambling addicti

This one is simpler, because the format means that they’ll have to be different. The DCEU Justice League is looking to be inspired purely from the comics - a coming-together of all the most iconic members who’ll most likely be tangling with big-name villains in the way we’ve come to expect from superhero movies. One big plot, followed by a one big CGI fight sc

"I think it’s something that I’ve always been interested in, but it wasn’t until I got into college and met some people doing it that I actually took the plunge. I’m not even sure if I can classify my first "outing" as a cosplay, I threw some stuff together and did a Lady Vader back in 2012. I had fun though, and got a good look at what other people were producing, asked a lot of questions, and thought 'yeah, I really need to do this right

Perhaps most telling was when Barry and co. met Gideon, Eobard Thawne’s interactive future Siri. Possessing knowledge of the future, Gideon named Barry Allen/The Flash as the founding member of… something, before she was cut off. No prizes for guessing what that was supposed to be. We also know that Thawne messed with the timeline, causing Barry to become The Flash several years earlier than he would’ve been originally. This would explain how he could be operating as a fully-fledged and experienced superhero for years, before any news starts trickling in from Gotham about a bat-themed vigilante, or the world becomes enamored with a certain heroic Kryptonian. With the timeline we’ve been given by the TV show, this could all just be waiting to happen around the cor
