"Rockstar Games has employed some creative techniques in cross-promotion. I think they're pretty exciting. Social Club has an awful lot of members and they're avid fans not just of Grand Theft Auto, not just of Red Dead Redemption, but also fans of Rockstar Games. I think it's great that there is some cross-promotion going
It is lengthy for sure, but every moment of it is pure bliss. It shows the impact of the first ending, and shakes things up from the past thirty-plus hours of the story. One way complaints could have been alleviated was by perhaps rolling the credits before the epilogue started, signaling to players they could take a break before diving into this meaty portion of unexpected cont
Welcome to This Week in Gaming, where we take a look back at some of the most newsworthy events in gaming history from last year to even decades ago that happened this very week. Take a gander at some of the highlights and see which spark nostalgia and which may still be news to you.
You may not recognize the name Katsuya Eguchi, but without him video games wouldn't be as they are today. The man has been helping Nintendo release hit after hit since 1988. Katsuya began working for the company two years earlier as a promotional artist. Afterwards, he was a member of the design team for hits like Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and Yoshi's Story. He made his directorial debut with Star Fox and has been the director and producer for additional big name titles. Katsuya's recent projects include Nintendo Land and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. He is the senior producer of Software Development Group No. 2 in the Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development division. They are in charge of new Animal Crossing and Wii games featuring Mii characters. Thanks to the guidance of Katsuya Eguchi, Nintendo has enjoyed much success and much more to come.
My view is that by their very nature hits are unexpected. That's the goal. There is an expectation around the table. Of course, there is an expectation of Rockstar Games and there is an expectation on part of consumers, but our job is to exceed those expectations, and fingers crossed, that's what we're all setting out to do. We couldn't predict and we didn't presume to in regards to Grand Theft Auto V, and we wouldn't presume to with Red Read Redemption 2. So we're just hard at work, doing the very best job that we c
This question has been thrown around a few times because of the heavy simulation elements, but it should be clarified that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a role playing game. Sure, there are stats and upgrades, but those are par for the course in most contemporary games. Just because there is a progression system does not make it kin to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest . After all, just about every game involves players taking on a r
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town’s massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy ra
Some of the entries may not change people's minds on certain issues, and that's okay. At the end of the day, mostly everybody is here because they love Red Dead Redemption enough to scrutinize it so deeply with an intense critical lens. After all, people wouldn't spend more than 80 hours of their life beating two mammoth-sized games if they weren't fans. So, get ready to walk unreasonably slow through the gang hideout, because here are 20 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About Red Dead Redempt
MTV's main draw back in the day was music. Today, not so much. The station is now known for its outrageously toxic reality shows and award ceremonies where Twilight wins everything. But, we'll have to forgive them just this once. The Xbox 360 made its public debut on the channel back in 2005. It was showcased in a special presentation called The Next Generation Revealed. The event was hosted by Elijah Wood and covered the design, features and footage from some games. A live musical performance by the Killers and a special project from the guys at West Coast Customs (remember them?) were also featured on the program. The console wasn't available until November 2005 but the coverage by MTV helped boost the hype. Or it may have killed the radio star.
Red Dead Online appears to be following the same blueprint as Grand Theft Auto Online, as the online world will blend "narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways." Players will be able to work together, or as a lone wolf, as they explore the vast, open world of the wild west. While elements from the single-player campaign will be brought into Red Dead Online, the mode will also act as a product separate from the actual game – much like Grand Theft Auto Online being a separate product from Grand Theft Auto
"The nature of our approach and specifically the nature of Rockstar Games' approach is never to be derivative and similar internet site always to shatter expectations. My belief is that Red Dead Redemption 2 will shatter expectations and that the online experience also will be extraordinary, but unexpec
