THE ULTIMATE BEGINNERS GUIDE TO RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 - 50+ TIPS! - (FACTS WITH FILBEE - #13)Hunting is another mechanic that has gotten a pretty severe overhaul compared to the original Red Dead Redemption . You've probably noticed the "study" option available when aiming at an animal, but it isn't immediately obvious what it does. But after studying it, select "show info", and you'll see what quality of pelt you're going to get from the animal in question. Depending on whether or not you're after the pelt or the meat, this might not matter to you, but if you are looking to sell the pelt, the quality makes a hefty difference in pr

Every dollar counts in the first three chapters. Should you want to upgrade the camp or any of Arthur’s belongings, you’ll actively need to find means of making money. Whether it be selling valuables, robbing folk, or just playing mini-games, money making is slow, but precious. You truly feel as though you’re building a wallet you can be proud

Come October, I know for a fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 will have me exploring the Great American West for dozens of hours on end. However, I'll certainly make some time for a hand of cards or a game of Liar's Dice when the opportunities present themselves.

While it's briefly touched upon in an early cut-scene that you should wear your bandana to hide your identity while doing anything illegal, the game doesn't mention the other mechanics of the bandana. For instance, if a random NPC sees you commit a crime while wearing the bandana, you'll still become wanted, but they (usually) won't be able to pin the crime on Arthur Morgan, meaning if you can avoid the immediate consequences of the law, there won't be any lasting penalties, at least in the form of a bou

As much as I enjoyed Poker, the amusing wits of strength in Arm Wrestling, and the surprising layers of strategy in Liar's Dice, no minigame in Red Dead Redemption brought out a sense of tension in me more than Five Finger Fillet, where players had to time their button presses to a series of rapid prompts by placing a knife between the spaces on their spread out fingers. Between the grisly image of seeing John's hand spread out on a table stained with the blood of past Finger Fillet losers and the fast-paced nature of its gameplay, Five Finger Fillet felt like the perfect mix of a minigame that truly embodied the gritty, Western world of Red Dead , while also bringing a unique bit of gameplay that had me terrified to look at a knife the same way again.

The most observant among you will already know this, but I personally spent a somewhat embarrassing amount of time searching around for a manual save game option. There's nothing worse than pulling off something completely awesome, only to die and realize the game never auto-sa

There's a certain area of the Bayou that gets a bit more, well, odd. It has some NPCs that seem to only speak nonsense, and overall it's the very definition of a "backwater" town. But, the biggest attraction in this area is one fine banjo pla

There's no denying that Red Dead Redemption 2 is without a doubt the game that I am most looking forward to this year (like many others). While I've been pondering its story and gazed at what we've seen from its breathtaking open-world, one of my secret wishes is that the game will nail the smaller details that I came to admire from Red Dead Redemption 2 Strategy Dead Redemption , and along with that I am hoping for the return of its signature Western minigames in the upcoming sequel.

Incredibly early into the gang, Arthur reveals that John had left the gang for an entire year prior to the start of Chapter 1. This abandonment clearly created some wedge between Arthur and John with the two butting heads early on. Oddly, though, Arthur more or less gets over it by Chapter 2 as he never actually reflects on

Challenges in Red Dead Redemption II are utterly nightmarish. Not only are there 90 of them now, they require such accurate precision to pull off that you’ll actively need to go out of your way for hours on end to complete them. This is to say nothing of the Gambling challenges which require actual RNG to win in the later entr

Thankfully, we've seen some hints that Red Dead Redemption 2 will almost certainly bring back some of these minigames, as a recent screenshot highlighted the game's protagonist, Arthur Morgan, and the rest of the Van der Linde gang surrounding a poker table . I had no doubts that we'll see Poker and Blackjack return to a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 , but what I'm equally hoping we see are even more eclectic minigames that truly exemplify the game's Western setting, and that can add deeper dimensions to its world.

However, the bandana isn't an item that comes without consequence. For instance, lawmen don't particularly react well to seeing a masked stranger, whether you've done anything wrong or not. And, wearing a bandana, committing a crime, and coming into town in the same outfit minus the bandana isn't going to do much for you. After all, the NPC's in this game aren't idiots. Make sure you've got an entirely different outfit for your criminal activities, and you'll find the lasting consequences much less sev
